Blustery February

Alas, poor, poor February. It has such a long rap sheet, for the shortest month, even when supporting 29 days. Most the time the weather is cold and depressing, far too grey. February’s all about collecting forms for taxes. Spoiling loved ones with Valentine’s gifts and having the empty checkbook to prove it.
This year for February I’m hoping the insurance nightmare from the flood damage ends. Oh, please end!
Many people have written me to tell me they are having snow while spring flowers are breaking through it. Personally, I kind of like that.
It is almost noon and I am just finishing up my first cup of coffee. I poured the cup over an hour ago and it is as cold as the blowing wind outside. Skully (my one and only) wrinkles his nose at my cold coffee drinking. I suppose I will go top it off with hot coffee to hike the temp up to lukewarm.
Are there any Techies out there? In Microsoft Word when I end a sentence I have to hit two spaces before I start my next sentence. Or, get one of those wavy green lines under the period requesting another space bar touch. Is there a way to change this so I can just have one space in between? Thanks in advance.

Winters are long up here! When you think about it, we've been in winter mode since October 1! Long about February, it gets "old," and like you say, taxes and bills come due.

Around here, we can expect two more months of it. I'm grateful that I can do most of my stuff indoors. On those rare winter days when it warms just a little, and there's sunlight, we both perk right up.

For your sakes, I hope you can put the flood behind you soon!

And just as an aside - I double space between sentences on purpose when I post, just because I think it it more readable! I've never been sure that Blogger prints it that way though ...

I guess I just need.......

I don't even care to care right now so I am off to bed at 7:30PM.

I'm lonely and have nobody to talk with.

Perhaps I need sunshine??

I double spaced Walt so we will see if it shows.

Spring flowers? I'd like to see one too, but we can't even dig down through the snow far enough to find a groundhog.

At least between pounding snowstorms we do get a little sunshine, so we'll beam a little your way!

On the techie side, here's a tip about how to configure Word to adjust to either one or two spaces - your choice. I'm a one-spacer myself.

Cheers! Bluebirds and robins are migratin' north as we speak! Butterflies too!

Hello Robin, we are getting some sun spots and that's nice.

Our rain has no place to go so we have sitting water again. I am so looking forward to spring. I hate when my paws get muddy.

I'm feeling much better. I had medications changed and I guess I was just missing the full moon.

Patti -

Meds aside, yesterday the rain stopped here and let some sun through. Right away, there was a slight spring in my step! Found a dead rat in the greenhouse, i.e. less for him - more for me! Actually had "thoughts" (don't wanna be hasty) about cleaning the garage! Maybe fire up the weedeater before the blackberries sprout? Maybe sprout some kohlrabis?

Ehh, rain is predicted today ... but you get the idea. A slight warming trend, a spot o' sunshine here and there ... Big Help!
